Hey Darlings,
I hope you're all doing well! This past weekend was a whirlwind of glitz, glamour (if you follow us on instagram, did you see my makeup? I felt like a real life doll), and pure joy as I had the absolute pleasure of attending the Black Business Magazine’s Anniversary Gala. Picture this: a night and a full magazine edition dedicated to celebrating “Black Women of Influence,” and guess what? I was featured in it! Somebody pinch me!
Being recognised at such an incredible event, especially in the Black community was a moment I’ll never forget. A huge thank you goes out to Black Business Magazine and Justice Williams MBE and Dr Tru Powell for putting together such a bloody fabulous event and for creating a powerful platform for Black businesses to shine.
Justice, and Tru have truly outdone themselves. They've created an extraordinary space where Black entrepreneurs can be celebrated, recognised, and given the spotlight they deserve. As Candice Braithwaite (the lovely lady on the cover of the mag) said during the event, "We’ve had to work ten times harder just to get a little recognition, but not anymore." This statement resonates deeply with so many of us, and it’s a testament to the hard work and resilience of our community.
It was so nice to be among so many talented and inspiring Black women, each with their own unique stories and successes. The energy in the room was a whole vibe, filled with laughter, applause, fashion (some beautiful dresses girls) and so much love. It was a beautiful reminder of how far we’ve come and how much further we can go when we support and uplift each other.
Justice, and Tru – thank you for your invaluable contribution to our community, and I am so grateful to be a part of this journey.
To all you guys reading this, use this as a reminder to keep shining, keep pushing, and keep being the incredible forces of nature that you are. Together, we can achieve anything.
Love always
